This may be especially apparent with lighter coloured clays. More colors and translucent are expected to be introduced in the near future. We do not recommend using any kind of coloured, plastic tape or masking tape over the foil as colours can transfer and bleed into your clay and ruin the coloration. To reduce costs and use less material, we recommend using aluminium armature wire over a tin foil core. Children can safely sculpt with Cosclay but any baking should only be done under the supervision of an adult. The fingers, however, have no armature inside and are only cosclay. Translucent will be available at a 10 off reduced rate to the first 50 orders. Since cosclay is so flexible and rubber-like, it can maintain the wire’s poseable properties after being baked.

It is also easily mixable with alcohol inks to create a range of translucent colors. Translucent Liquid Sculpey® is a bakeable liquid polymer medium. Larger pieces will sometimes generate more steam because there is a greater mass of material to cure. Cosclay Translucent is clear enough for light to pass through in any thickness, but if rolled thin enough, you can also see that colors, words, and other artistic elements are visible underneath. Be sure not to burn the clay and keep it safely away from all heating elements. Check your oven with a secondary thermometer to make sure it is baking at the correct temperature. If you experience excess steam, it is likely that you are baking the clay at too high a temperature. Cosclay is made from all non-toxic ingredients. The steam is not considered hazardous, but should be ventilated for good measure. I noticed that sometimes when curing my creation that there is some steam that is made during baking. Translucent Cernit polymer clay is just as white and as clear as Pardo Art Clay when baked at the recommended temperatures.
